Diary of a Weeds virgin – What? The suburbs aren’t perfect?

I understand that it’s well-written and well-acted. It has Jeffrey Dean Morgan playing a dead dude (who isn’t having gh0st sex with his very alive ex-fiancee!) and Mary-Louise Parker. What more can you ask for? Well, yes. All of that sounds good on paper, but I have one major problem with the show: I find potheads really annoying.

Diary of a Gossip Girl Virgin – OMG! Pretty girls and underage drinking

(Season 1, Episodes 1-4) Beyond being young, female and a little gossipy, I don’t consider myself part of Gossip Girl‘s sexy target demographic. Trust funds and body shimmer aren’t particularly important to me, so I shouldn’t be interested in GG, right? As it turns out, my rebellious streak, surly demeanor and the ominous theremin music […]

The Wire virgin’s diary – Omar testifies, the case starts to materialize

(Season 2, Episodes 5-7) Well, I’m more than halfway through season two at this point and things are just starting to come together. The Wire virgin’s diary – Getting the old team back together

(Season 2, Episodes 1-4) During my diaries from season one, more than one commenter warned me about season two. I’m enjoying the season so far and there is a lot going on, but it is very different than the first season. All the characters that we got to know and love from the case during […]

Diary of a Supernatural Virgin – Dark, poignant, funny, and I still hate Meg

(Season one, Episodes 13-17) Only five more episodes until the first season ends? Say it isn’t so! Supernatural is some of the best fun on TV; I’m so glad I decided to give this series a chance. Some huge things happened in these five episodes I recently watched. They are slowly moving us toward the […]

The Wire virgin’s diary – things heat up, the case is closed

(Season 1, Episodes 7-13) If I weren’t sold before, after finishing the first season of The Wire, I can now consider myself an avowed fan. The first half of the season was a lot of build up , and it turned out that the second half was a lot of pay off. I can’t wait […]

The Wire virgin’s diary – drug dealing, bureaucracy, and cops on the street

(Season 1, Episodes 1-6) About a month ago, I asked all my fellow TV fans to help me figure out which show I should be catching up on via DVD. Now, Dexter did win by a comfortable margin, and I plan on watching it, but I ended up choosing The Wire. In my defense, I […]
