When I look back on the crime-time gold rush from the mid to late ’80s, one show has always stood about above the others: ‘Riptide’. The adventures of Cody, Nick, and Murray at the Pier 56 Detective Agency still hold up, and are a perfect example of the period on television.

‘Scarecrow and Mrs. King’ stands up to my memories and the test of time … and for those of you who don’t know it, think ‘Chuck’ … with Chuck being an ’80s housewife and Sarah being a macho male agent who doesn’t want a partner.

Sure ‘Nip/Tuck’ just ended last week, but it’s never to early to look back fondly on some of the highlights of the show (and get over the incredibly disappointing series finale).

Slings & Arrows follows the escapades of Canada’s New Burbage Festival. Each season finds the festival tackling a different Shakespeare play as difficulties mount from all corners. A ghost, an insane director with a vision, corporate drones that want to take over the festival… In short, it’s a comedy, about drama.

The Wire was one of the best shows on television, even if no one watched it and Emmy completed ignored it. Check it out!

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip looked to be a hands-down winner in the 2006-07 television season. Yet, as the season progressed, the show turned out to be more of a loser due to the heavy-handedness of its creator.
