Some things we learned on Big Brother tonight: Rachel can’t count past three (saying Kalia has tried to get her out of the house more times than she can count), Porsche has lost all sense of time (thinking Keith played in, and lost, 17 competitions), Jordan really is the ultimate floater (I love her, but seriously, what has she won this season beside the one HoH that Jeff and Brendon let her have?), and that Adam can actually win a competition on his own (he only won the Veto comp because of Porsche’s mistake [see above]).
But when it’s all said and done, Adam has got to go down as one of the worst game players in Big Brother history. He’s never stuck with an alliance, bouncing back and forth between whoever has the power but contributing nothing in the process, and has basically done what he’s been told to do. He proved how useless his “strategy” is by his Power of Veto decision.
Last week, Adam was tight with Kalia and Porsche because they had the power. The second Rachel and Jordan got back into the game, Adam jumped Kalia and Porsche’s sinking ship like a rat trying not to drown. Winning a truly crucial and possibly game-changing Veto gave him the opportunity to really make a big — no, gigantic move in the game by holding true to his original newbie alliance. It was no shock that Rachel nominated Kalia and Porsche, but all Adam had to do to really secure himself a better shot at final two was to take either of them off the block. Instead, he kept the nominations the same and after a tie vote (Jordan shockingly voted to evict Porsche), Rachel had the pleasure of sending the one other strong competitor out the door.
The hypocrisy of Rachel’s choice is so aggravating. All season long, all she’s talked about was taking out the floaters and playing against a real competitor. The only person in the house to really give Rachel a run for her money was Kalia (yes, Porsche has turned up her game a notch but Kalia has been playing the game from the moment she got hooked up with Daniele). Rachel’s speech about fighting hard all season to stay in the game meant nothing when she’s kicking someone else out of the house who has done the same thing. Now, instead of really competing to win $500,000, she’s just planning to … float to the end.
But, her fate now rests in Adam’s hands once again. He failed to make a bold move at the Veto Ceremony, he managed to win HoH all on his own, and now he has another chance to make a bold, game-changing decision — does he nominate Porsche and Jordan (I doubt he’d put up Rachel in that scenario) or does he “go big” and put up Jordan and Rachel? The rational thinker would say Rachel and Jordan would be the logical nominees because then they’d both have to fight to win the veto (and this comp will probably be endurance, which gives Rachel the advantage). If Porsche won, the nominations would stay the same. If either Rachel or Jordan won, Porsche would be headed to the jury. Putting up Porsche and Jordan gives Porsche the chance to stay in the game if she wins Veto and guaranteeing Rachel or Jordan a trip to jury. I’m sure he’ll make the “logical” decision and nominate Porsche, hoping that Rachel or Jordan wins Veto and evicts Porsche. But as we’ve seen in the past, you have to expect the unexpected and plan at least two moves ahead. I sincerely doubt Adam will make the strategic move. You?
