Big Brother – Drama, backstabbing, tears and Pandora’s Box

Even before Thursday's shocking double eviction, tempers had been flaring in the 'Big Brother' house, and we finally got to see what happened before the live show aired.

Jordan gets in Shelly's face after Jeff's eviction on "Big Brother"

In a season that has been decidedly lacking in action and drama, Thursday’s double eviction and Sunday’s behind-the-scenes drama have made for two really great episodes of Big Brother.

Prior to Thursday’s first eviction, Julie Chen informed us that “moments ago” the house had exploded but we never got to see exactly what happened.  Sunday’s episode rectified that situation by giving us a flashback to what took place hours before the live show.  It all started with Shelly blabbing to Rachel about Jeff throwing the Veto competition that sent Brendon packing.  I was wondering if Rachel ever confronted Jeff about that story, and she did.  Of course, Jeff had to lie to her but that pretty much exposed Shelly’s shenanigans and Big Jeff was none too happy.

Things escalated as Jeff tried to talk to Adam and Shelly kept popping in to every room they were in, trying to throw Adam under the bus as the conspirator and spinning her wheels furiously to not make Jeff think she was about to stab him in the back by voting to keep Daniele.  I’m sorry, but when Shelly is backed into a corner she does not have the skills to get herself out of it because she couldn’t answer one direct question without deflecting it onto Adam or someone else.

Even though Daniele did get evicted, Shelly knew she burned her bridge and pretty much let everyone else know that she was with Kalia and Porsche and when Kalia won the HoH, she was home free.  The three quickly decided to nominate Rachel and Jeff, because Kalia refused to go back on her word about not putting Jordan on the block … so she has some integrity after all.  Of course Jeff got voted out after the tie and then the real fireworks started.

Shelly, not knowing when to leave well enough alone, tried to talk to Jordan but she wanted nothing to do with her at that moment.  Tempers flared and I don’t think we’ve ever seen Jordan get that angry.  The topic of the phone call that Jordan gave to Shelly was all it took to really make things explode.  It was so heated that Rachel had to drag her into another room … and Adam just laid there like a lump.  Pretty much all he’s done this season.  The only person who really seems to have any sense at the moment is Kalia, who told Shelly that Big Brother is not the real world but Shelly is still upset about losing her two friends in the house.

Speaking of Adam, how useless is this guy!  He keeps crowing about the veto comp he won, even though Jeff gave it to him, and he hasn’t won anything else all season. He probably could have kept Jeff in the house if he hadn’t been out first in Thursday’s HoH competition, and he lost HoH again Sunday by having the worst performance on the Snake Eye challenge (even though he practiced day and night).  And now he’s best friends with Shelly again because her alliance is now in power with Porsche winning HoH.

All season long, the veterans have been calling Porsche, Kalia and Adam the ultimate floaters, believing that they were all just riding Daniele’s or the vets’ coattails to the finals. Kalia has certainly shown her strength even when Dani was still in the house, and Porsche has turned on her game when it counted most. It’s truly silly to come into this game and play hard right from the beginning because that’s what usually gets you evicted first. Porsche may been laying low and playing the floater, but the girl has definitely brought her A Game to the competition … except she did a really stupid thing by opening Pandora’s Box for $5000.  And she put the duos back together for a week.  As of now, the nominations have taken place and the PoV competition has been held, so it’s going to be a very interesting eviction episode this week.

Whoever is HOH should take Adam to the final 3, he can’t win anything and no one would vote for him.
