Big Brother – And the meek shall inherit the house

The 'Big Brother' house is rocked as alliances crumble, an entire week of game play is crammed into a single night, and some powerful players are sent packing.

- Season 13, Episode 22

Rachel consoles Jordan after Jeff is evicted

Well, after a couple of weeks of nothing major happening, the Big Brother house was finally rocked tonight as an entire week was crammed into one night with a double eviction, and no real guess as to how some House Guests were going to vote after a couple of major blowouts in the house earlier in the day, and apparently right before air time or during the video highlights before coming back to Julie Chen live in the studio.

Things got off to a heated start with the first eviction (the HGs had no idea tonight was the double elimination — they all thought it was next week). As we saw during the pre-taped segment, Shelly suddenly flipped on Jeff and Jordan and started working to get votes in Daniele’s favor because a lightbulb finally went off in her head (with a little help from Daniele) that Jeff and Jordan were playing together and no one was going to win with them both in the house (I still don’t know why they keep Jordan around since she was the winner of their season).

The most interesting part of all that was seeing Rachel really considering keeping Daniele. She really had to know that the only jury vote she had at that point was Brendon, and she’s being kept possibly as that person you want next to you in the final two. But, she snapped out of whatever Dani-induced hypnosis she was in and she, Adam and Jordan were the three votes it took to evict her.

Julie dropped the bombshell that the House Guests now had to play an HoH competition, followed by nominations, a Veto comp and ceremony and another eviction. The HoH comp was Rachel’s to lose since it was one of those “Before or After” quizzes … and she did. Kalia was really the only other competition left who could have won it and when it came down to her and Jordan, it was no surprise that Kalia won (we’ve seen Jordan’s skills at answering questions already) or that she quickly picked up Daniele’s mantle and nominated Rachel and Jeff. The Veto competition quickly followed, and Porsche won the PoV and left Kalia’s nominations the same.

During the “last words” of the nominees, Jeff spoke directly to Shelly and referenced a fight they had had earlier in the day. The fight was about the floaters like Porsche and Kalia who really haven’t done much to move forward … except Kalia won HoH once already and Porsche has been strong in the competitions. Jeff just ascribed their forward motion in the house to Daniele’s influence, but he seems to overlook the fact that Adam has really done nothing and no matter how many times he tries to convince himself (and us) that he won a Veto competition, the fact of the matter is that Jeff threw the comp so Adam could win and Jeff wouldn’t have to consider voting Brendon out. The flashback earlier in the show of Shelly just happening to mention this little fact to Rachel while pretending not to remember that it was the competition that resulted in Brendon being evicted for the second time was deliciously evil (but it still didn’t save Daniele, even after she also confirmed it to Rachel).

Again, it was a tense vote that Adam struggled with, and after being forced to give an answer by Julie, he stuck with his boy while Shelly pretty much stabbed the one guy in the back who has been loyal to her since the start of the game. The vote, however, came to a tie and while it seemed Kalia was addressing Rachel — and knowing how much she dislikes her — she ultimately evicted the biggest threat in the house, Jeff, who was none too happy (even Julie backed away from him during their short interview).

After the show ended and the live feeds returned, another huge fight broke out as Jordan got in Shelly’s face, screaming at her with Rachel trying to pull her away, finally dragging her into another room. Jordan was so angry she was shaking. It will be interesting to see what happens next with the two biggest players out of the game. Shelly is sure to stick with Kalia and Porsche now, Rachel and Jordan will stick together, but where oh where will Adam go now that his protector is gone? Unless Rachel or Jordan win the next HoH, it’s beginning to look like a newbie might actually win the game.

Shelly said when she voted against Jeff that she had to do it for her family, a reference to him keeping her from winning the $500K. Well, she now has four probably jurors who will never vote for her (Je/Jo and Brenchel) since she has won jack squat and stabbed them in the back. Her inability to win anything is what will keep her from winning $500K because even if she gets to the end, no one in their right mind would vote for someone who lost every competition and went against their alliance.

This has been my favorite season of BB. And double eviction night is the best episode of the season. So happy Kahlia won. Jeff is too cocky. The strongest players should be voted off first, so you have a better chance to win competitions. Duh. Keep Adam as long as possible. He can’t win anything. I like Jordan but she already won, so I’d like to see a newbie win.
