Big Brother – Daniele’s web begins to unravel

Things are getting a little "hairy" in the 'Big Brother' house as the veterans' alliance finally catches on that one of their own is simply playing the game in her own best interest.

- Season 13, Episode 9 - "The veto competition takes place"

Daniele's plans begin to fall apart on "Big Brother"

I can’t believe that the vets are finally waking up and smelling the coffee in the Big Brother house! After making separate deals with Adam and Dominic to assure their safety and allegiance, I loved how Rachel was eavesdropping at the door to hear what the guys were talking about after the nomination ceremony. But I was a bit baffled by her ploy to strike another deal with the both of them together. Was she testing them, teasing them, making them think there were bigger targets in the house? I don’t think even she knew what she was doing at that point.

While Brendon was still smarting about Jordan’s snub after the luxury competition, he still wasn’t sure if it was a sign of a rift in the alliance or strategy on Jordan’s part to get Shelly and Kalia on their side. Meanwhile, Dom is working Daniele hard to make sure he stays in the house and Jeff is putting two-and-two together. But Brendon and Rachel convinced Dominic to throw the PoV competition … and Daniele freaked out, basically showing her “alliance” all of her cards.

Daniele has not been subtle at all in her attempt to start a war between Jeff & Jordan and Brendon & Rachel, but it took the four of them long enough to catch on. Even after the PoV competition, which Brendon won, she was still trying to convince them that Jeff & Jordan were coming after Rachel & Brendon. Of course, it didn’t help that Dominic also revealed a bit too much of his hand to Shelly (not knowing she’s tight with J & J), and she was finally the key to revealing to the vets what Dani and Dom are up to.  As it stands now, it looks like Dominic is going to be having a sit-down with Julie Chen Thursday night.

As for the Veto competition, the set-up itself was interesting and fun but did they have to recycle the spelling game again already (and seriously, do the producers only put chips in the bag with the same name on all of them)? I did get a laugh out of it and really hoped Jeff would just go and spell TECHNOTRONIC again, but he stuck with an actual word this time. However, Miss Rocket Scientist Rachel seemed utterly shocked that MOUISTURIZING wasn’t actually a word. And for someone who was supposed to be throwing a competition, coming up with a correctly spelled nine-letter word didn’t seem to be the way to do it with that group in the game.

So what do you think? Will Dominic be evicted? If so, will that destroy Daniele’s game, or only make her stronger … provided she wins HoH next week? And will a newbie finally take the crown this week?
