Oh when will our long national nightmare be over? Will anyone be able to vanquish Brenchel from the Big Brother house? If Rachel thought America hated her before, just wait until she finds out how we feel about her after this episode!
Unfortunately with Rachel in power again, everyone feels like they have to kiss her ass — curiously, not Kalia or Shelly though (maybe they were just left out of the edit). Rachel had a parade of HGs in her room, with Adam throwing Kalia and Lawon under the bus, Dominic convincing them he has to be on their side to stay in the game and even Lawon got in on the Brenchel worship (but he doesn’t seem to be able to say anything that makes a bit of sense).
The real highlight of the episode was the Luxury Competition which asked the HGs to figure out the name of the guy who hosted the comp. They were told he had the same name as a celebrity, and they were given a series of clues to help them guess. I have no idea how Jordan got the answer right from three bars of soap and a pair of opera glasses (the very first clue!), but even a microphone and a knight I shining armor with a flotation device didn’t help (although Jeff did come up with the character’s name). A few of them even seemed to forget all about the GUY who hosted the comp, coming up with names like Barbra Streisand and Keira Knightly as guesses.
But at the end of the comp, the HGs were happy to see a new face (and car) in the back yard, and shocked to learn that Jordan guessed David Hasselhoff. It really got interesting when she won a party in the HoH room and chose Jeff, Shelly and Kalia to accompany her to enjoy a screening of the premiere of Same Name — the show that Hoff happened to be the subject of in its premiere episode.
Even better than the competition was the complete meltdown experienced by Brendon and Rachel, and the hilarious editing that intercut the party in the HoH room with the yelling and crying downstairs (that everyone else could hear). They went from being pissed at Jordan to realizing (finally!) how dysfunctional they really are as a couple. Brendon even threatened to walk out … and Rachel told him to go, but we’re stuck with them. At least we got to have a few more laughs at their expense.
In the end, even with all of the hurt feelings and wheeling-and-dealing going on, Rachel was still too much of a coward to make a bold move and nominate Jeff and Jordan. Instead, for the second time Dominic and Adam find themselves on the block … and they both think they have solid deals with Brenchel. What will really be interesting is what happens after the PoV comp. Obviously, if Dom or Adam wins, they come off the block. If Brendon or Rachel win, does Rachel go for the backdoor to get Jeff or Jordan out?
