The Big Brother house was thrown into disarry this week with the departure of Evel Dick. It’s still not clear why he left and all Dick has said is that he had to leave to help a friend who needed him and that he was respecting that friend’s privacy. While the departure is a disappointment to Dick’s fans, it was a huge blow to the veterans of the game and to his team mate Daniele. Daniele received the first Golden Key, so I’m still wondering how this will affect the eviction ceremony this week. Will there be an eviction? Will five people get Golden Keys? It’s a very curious situation. The one effect this may have down the road is that there probably won’t be a double eviction later in the season.
The departure of Dick led to a spectacular meltdown from Brendon, who seemed to want to confront newbie Keith and punch his lights out for gloating (I’m actually with him on that one). Jeff seemed to talk the vets down from their hysteria at being down two players in one fell swoop, but Keith only seemed to get more paranoid by calling out Porsche and Kalia for daring to talk to the vets. They all know they have the numbers, but it doesn’t take much to get votes cast against you … especially if you board the Crazy Train after just two weeks in the house.
The veto competition was something to behold as Keith and Porsche were both working to throw the comp (without the other’s knowledge — and the DR video was hilarious as they tried to convince each other how difficult it was), but were Jeff and Jordan even trying? It would have been very amusing had Jeff agreed to Jordan’s plan to let her get the puzzle pieces and lift him into the air to place them on the board … and the outcome would have been about the same. As it was, Brendon and Rachel won the PoV and opted not to use it, even after Brendon’s Godfather routine to see who in the house might be willing to vote with and protect them. Like Kalia said, everyone is going to nod and agree with them because that’s the only way to stay safe, but we all know no one will follow through with any promises to the vets, except maybe Porsche if she manages to stay in the house. We’ll see tomorrow night if Keith’s Regulators still have his back or if his onset of insanity has put some fear into them.
On another note, not game related, if you are a follower of the live feeds you witnessed some extremely appalling behavior on Jeff’s part yesterday. During a conversation about Harry Potter with Kalia, Jeff launched into a homophobic tirade about Dumbledore being gay and how that shouldn’t be in a children’s book (it was never explicitly mentioned in the book, only by J.K. Rowling as a comment on the character), and then he went on to say how a gay man shouldn’t be in charge of a school or be around children … thereby equating all homosexuals as pedophiles. Kalia was dumbfounded, to say the least. It was all caught on video and some enterprising indivdual has managed to save the recording if you’d care to watch. I thought Jeff had a little more sense and I was rooting for him and Jordan to go to the end this season, but his ignorant comments this week have lost him a fan and really put a damper on my enjoyment of watching Big Brother. As far as I’m concerned, Jeff can’t be gone too soon now.
“I’m literally looking at him like he has three heads because I’m hoping that maybe he’ll grow two more and the two others will make more sense than he does.” — Kalia talking about Keith’s paranoia
