TV on DVD – Doctor Who, H.R. Pufnstuf, and Dallas

A week headlined by the classics includes 'H.R. Pufnstuf', 'Doctor Who', 'The Sweeney', 'Dallas', 'Dragnet', 'Car 54', 'Last of the Summer Wine', 'BBC Tudors', 'Redwall', 'Garfield', 'Man vs Wild', 'Rachel Zoe', 'Kathy Griffin', 'Snapped', and 'Flipping Out'.

It’s an oldies, but goodies, week down at the DVD emporium. The new release offerings are made of unscripted shows like Flipping Out, Life on the D-List, Rachel Zoe, and Man vs Wild, but the real fun is to be had with a few well timed blasts from the past. Doctor Who is back with two more classic story collections to start things off. The police are also well represented, thanks to Car 54, Dragnet 1970, and The Sweeney. I almost went with The Sweeney for pick of the week, but that is a pretty steep entry fee for 54 episodes of ’70s cop show. And when you compare it to the steal of a deal you can get on the complete series set for H.R. Pufnstuf, it’s an easy choice. If you opt for the collector’s edition, you’ll get a swell bobble-head as a bonus.
