American Idol – Witnessing the emergence of a star

There just might be a "run" today on musicians pounding the pavement in search of a stand-up bass at their local music shops. Why? Just take a look.

- Season 10, Episode 10 - "The Hollywood Cuts"

Amidst some of the crash-and-burn sequences during Hollywood Week on American Idol you know, the ones filled with tears of despair and whimpers of defeat — you got this performance from one of my favorites, Casey Abrams. Please enjoy …

Do you see now why I dig Idol for what it is, warts and all?

Sometimes you just have to let the piffle and scunge and nuts of wonder lay where they may and let the music do the talking.

Because if you do, eventually you will be rewarded.

“There were moments when every one of you gave us goosebumps.”

Casey is the one I’m rooting for too! Even WITHOUT the Stand-up Bass his voice and the feeling that he pushed through it were just FAB! Love. HIM!

This was awesome, and I hope he survives the piffle and scunge of the following weeks of competition to get a firm foundation for his future. Ray Charles would have been proud.
