South Park – Shaddap Mimsyyyy!

How many people really find Towelie a funny member of the 'South Park' cast, and how many of you are just ready for him to be retired from the show already?

- Season 14, Episode 7 - "Crippled Summer"

“Towelie is definitely one of the most addicted towels we’ve ever seen here. He’s probably the second most psychologically damaged towel I’ve come across since treating Kirstie Alley’s towel, which had seen some … brrrr … some nasty stuff.”

After seeing towelie in tonight’s episode, I realized he was largely absent from the last two episodes. If he did appear, I didn’t notice. The thing is, I don’t care about Towelie. I’ve never really found him funny other than the first time he came up. What was funny, though, was the stuff going on at Camp Tardicaca … damn, that makes me laugh just typing that.

The best part of the Tardicaca (snicker) antics was the various special needs kids looking and sounding very familiar in a Loony Tunes way. Even Nathan and Mimsy were modeled after the two Loony Tunes dogs! I don’t remember the boss dog getting raped by a Tardicaca shark on Saturday mornings, though.

This episode probably disappointed a lot of fans hoping Parker and Stone would do something to “make up for” last week’s censored episode. With the disclaimer at the start, I thought for sure we were in for a wild ride, but it was just part of the very overdrawn Intervention parody, complete with black backgrounded messages and the familiar guitar twang music.

South Park is off for a while now, most likely back in the Fall. Hopefully that will give Parker and Stone time to figure out just what in the hell they can get away with on this network without worrying it will be censored. Maybe they uncensor it for the later showing? We’ll see.

I’d have to agree. I’ve never been a fan of Towelie, and the intervention story wasn’t nearly up to the level of the Camp Tardicaca story.

Towelie is like family.

Towelie wasn’t a good charecter from the start, in fact maybe he was one of the worst, but they did redeem him a little in this episode. However the remainder of the episode made up for it 110%. They made a bad situation with Towely work in their favour!
