Lost in Lost – Want a sneak peek of the season six premiere?

If only it were as simple as saying “yes,” but unfortunately it is not. There is, however, a chance for you to check out a “sneak peek” of the first episode of the final season before it premieres on Groundhog Day. I’m not sure about you, but I received an e-mail in my in-box this week from Lost. I’m not quite sure how Lost got my e-mail, but I must have signed up for something at some point….

In any case, ABC is running a contest that will give winners a “sneak peek” at the premiere.

First thing’s first: if you didn’t receive the e-mail, but are interesting in entering the contest, here is the link. 815 winners (cute, ABC) will be chosen, so you have a pretty good chance, I would think. I’m holding out hope that ABC will release screeners early for us critic-types. One thing is certain though: Lost is coming, and it’s closer than ever. We are officially less than a month away from the final season.

This contest also makes one thing very clear: ABC and Lost are being very secretive about this season. Executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damoin Lindelof have been very wary of showing any footage of the final season in the promos for the show, wanting to keep even the most innocuous details secret. Some series will give sneak peeks of their new seasons right on their websites — no contest necessary. I certainly appreciate their attempt to keep everything close to the vest for the final episodes. The more surprises the better, as far as I am concerned.

So, how hungry are you for a preview of the new season? Will you be entering the contest?

I think I don’t want a peek. I want to stay peek free of everything including spoilers. I really want to savor the rest of this show. I don’t know about my chances for success, I can be pretty weak in this regard.

I hear that. I think my column next week is going to be about “to spoil or not to spoil.” I’ve been pretty good up until now, and hope to get even better when the season starts. Although, I do feel a slight obligation to be on top of what is happening in the Lost fandom, and that usually means stumbling into some spoilers now and then.
