South Park redefines the F word

- Season 13, Episode 12 - "The F Word"

South Park F Word alien

Damn, it’s getting harder to locate these hidden aliens every week. Your hint for this week is above, though it looks like the southparkstudios.com folks have a bit of a typo in the choices for the Get South Park‘d contest this week.

Y’know, South Park tries to deliver a message in many of the episodes, usually with some sort of monologue from Stan, Kyle or Cartman. And most times it’s just funny and you just don’t take it seriously at all. This week, though, there was a message within the story without really coming right out and telling us what it is. Well, besides that loud Harley riders are fucking annoying as hell.

The message I’m talking about? It’s that we put way too much meaning and influence onto words. Just a single word carries so much of an issue with the Harley riders that they go berserk and, by God, do the unthinkable: they research the word in a library! When all is said and done, and Emmanuel Lewis has been dragged to near-death, the bikers embrace the word and carry on. And, just like that, they pretty much took the power out of the word “fag” and made it apply no differently than “biker” to them. Imagine if we could take the power away from all words like that?

Anyway, I’m getting way too serious for a show like South Park. Here’s some quotes:

Biker: “You guys smell that? Smells like that new Famous Bowl at KFC.”

Woman: “What would you call a straight man, who doesn’t own a Harley, but likes them and might buy one someday?”
Cartman: “You call him bike-curious.”

Not only was this near impossible to find, but if you weren’t watching this episode in a widescreen or hd format, you would have never seen the alien.

Darn it! I recorded the entire episode with my camera (I watched the 4:3 version). I looked everywhere but I couldn’t find it! The alien was cut off! I hope my cable provider has a widescreen HD comedy central soon! Thanks Keith!

Did anyone else catch the Jim Rome interviewing Jim Everett reference? It’s when the reporter says “I bet I do” to calling the Harley rider a fag again. Awesome.
