Cougar Town’s land boat and the best dad talk ever

“You can’t use the same person for both things. One’s a gardener and the other’s an artist.” – on waxing eyebrows and the bikini area

There was a lot to appreciate about last night’s Cougar Town. From the shout-out to The Clash, to the high-pitched voice of the man-lie (both from Travis and Josh), I laughed a lot. But for me, Courteney Cox didn’t steal the show last night — last night, it was all about the boys.

“Jealous Much”? Well, I wasn’t, but it was funny that Andy was. Dude, there is nothing cool about a land boat. Although now I am starting to think there is some merit in the concept, seeing as Keith loves boats but I get seasick … perhaps a compromise? Hey Keith, “Jealous Much”?

I love that Travis, the youngest member of the cast, is the voice of reason in this show. How he turned out that way with his two crazy (but well-meaning) parents is a mystery to me. Travis hiding on the deck of the land boat while the two dads are rocking to some classic tunes, shirtless, was hilarious. And Bobby? You did, you nailed that dad talk. It truly was the best dad talk ever.

Grayson learned a lesson … he was right all along in not letting the young chick’s stay for breakfast. I took the same pleasure as Jules did in watching him scream on his front doorstep.

In the interest of full disclosure, one of my best college friends was named Candee, two e’s. In her defense, she took on Candace not long after that.

You still enjoying Cougar Town? I definitely am.

Actually, one of my top new shows of the season. Good Wife, Cougar Town, Flash Forward. They are my three. Love them! I’ve laughed out loud at all three episodes of Cougar Town…I find her to be a far more realistic 40 something than the chicks on Wisteria Lane.

I think this was the strongest episode of the show yet. Really enjoyed it.
