The Office is one of those shows that most of us here at CliqueClack watch and love. That makes it tough not to be redundant when it comes to discussing what has been, or what’s to come. Hell, I myself have discussed The Michael Scott Paper Company, as well as the Jim/Pam baby chatter. How to avoid stepping on someone’s toes?
Well, we set up this giant pit of fire, and we mud-wrestled in the middle of it, and there were pitchforks, and old-fashioned torture devices … it was brutal. The point was, whichever character’s cardboard cutout you managed to drag outside the ring was yours to speculate on.
Either that, or it’s first come, first serve.
Most discussions involve the biggies, when it’s really the complimentary ensemble that makes this puppy hum. Some thoughts (all my own; NO SPOILERS) on the best of the rest:
- Stanley will finish his crossword puzzle book, and the office will spend one Friday helping him shop for a new one. Someone will suggest he attempt Sudoku, and Stanley will yell at Michael again.
- Kevin and his lady-friend will continue their torrid affair. With his confidence up, Kevin will actually open his ice-cream-cart business.
- We will delve deeper into the scary-crazy world that is Creed’s mind. Does he still live in Canada and collect unemployment there? Will he move on to another identity soon? Will he learn Andy’s name?
- Meredith will find a new beau to provide her with coupons, as she will tire of steak. Pam and Jim’s wedding (or the birth of their baby) will be marred by Meredith forgoing her panties once again.
- Jan will seek a reconciliation with Michael, as she discovers that she needs help (read: relative stability and an income) to raise her baby. She will continue to date on the side. Very publicly.
- Andy and Dwight will finally realize that they’re meant for each other. Like Bert and Ernie.
- Kelly will die. Thank God.
- Angela will rekindle her secret sexual relationship with Dwight, while starting to date someone outside the office publicly. And she’ll adopt more cats.
- Toby … well Toby will keep being Toby. Even when he moves to the Caribbean nothing good happens to him. He should stop trying.
- Ryan will stop coming back to the show, because no one really likes him. Murder/suicide pact with Kelly?
- Oscar will find love again, and it will be a relationship that lightens him up a bit. Plus, his friendship will Andy will blossom, threatening Dwight. Like Ernie’s Rubber Duckie threatens Bert.
- Darryl will once again be on the show. You know, because Robinson succeeds as Darryl where he fails in every character he plays in movies.
- Phyllis will go back to being innocent and nice. I’ve never gotten on board with the new, saucy Phyllis.
Jim, Pam, and Michael who?
