Do you just want Izzie Stevens to die already?

greys_anatomy_042309

This week’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy was a real downer. From Izzie dying to Bailey cradling a dying kid to the guy leaping through a hospital window and crashing onto a car below … good f-ing grief!

OK, focus, Jane. Let’s talk about the Izzie-dying story. It was just weird. I sort of just want her to die already. She spent the first part of the episode pretending like she could just be the same person as she was pre-cancer. She was pulling these practical jokes where she’d seize up and have Cristina calling for a crash cart. That just seems weird and cruel. And then what if you really ARE crashing, and people just look at you like, oh, she’s just fooling around. Forget about it.

But let’s face it. Izzie is really sick, and she finally realizes that by the end of the episode when she’s puking and crying. It’s a good thing that Meredith is getting married. Having Izzie be in charge of picking out the dress is a good distraction. But I sort of wonder what kind of bridal store would let all those dresses go out of their store — and into a hospital, no less. Maybe they do things differently in Seattle than Traverse City, Michigan.

Seriously, though. How long will they drag the Izzie-dying story out? I’m guessing at least through the end of the season, which isn’t that far away, thank goodness. Then I suppose we’ll have to be grieving her all next season. I see no way out here.

Are you like me, and just want Izzie to die and wipe it clean from your brain?

I really hope that Izzie pulls out of this. It is a great storyline as Heigl is doing an incredible job. Whatever you think of her as a person, this storyline has turned out very interesting.

I also enjoyed seeing George again as an active member of a storyline. Unfortunately, I don’t think we will see him much longer, but enjoyed his and Alex’s story too.

Bailey’s storyline was heartbreaking, but also seemed realistic.

GA is definitely on the right track right now.

Nope. No desire for her to die. I like Katherine Heigl and Izzie has always been my favorite character.

It made perfect sense that she was acting “normal” at the beginning of the show. She doesn’t want to believe it’s true. She’s doing everything she can to imagine she will live and its going to be alright. If you’ve ever known anyone with cancer, then you know they rarely retreat into woe is me status (unless that was their schtick to begin with).

I think it’s a great story; unlike the ridiculous crap with Lexie eating in every scene to get “fat” since she’s pregnant. What the hell is that?? Completely out of character for her to freak like that. Just a very, very dumb idea. They should take a clue from Guiding Light and just allow the suspension of disbelief while the actress is pregnant and cover her in black.

Well we’ve never really scene Lexi in love (if I posit that the thing with George was never really love).

I have to agree with my two friends here: Not only no, but heck no. For the first time in like two seasons we’ve been given reason to care about Stevens. Furthermore, its about time that Karev had some redemption as well.

I’m waiting breathlessly for her to check out. Fingers crossed!

Sorry, she’s not gonna do it…..
wouldn’t be prudent.
Heigl has already been quoted as saying she would like to stick around if she had some storyline worh staying for, so my money’s on her staying.

Im quite sick and tired of talking about her and please dont leave – if she wants to leave, let her leave and let us be. I dont see why everyone in the show (producers, writers, other actors etc) have to be worried that KH might leave, the show would contine without her and its not the end of the world. Yes she’s a good actress and I liked her storylines but look at other shows like ER, they survived without Doug Ross and Mark Greene and along came others like Luca and Abby to save the day! so people should chill. Plus, she’s done everything she could do: go from bad to good doctor, help her daughter, fall in love with best friend, lose her fiance, fight with all her friends and then make up, fall in love with the right guy (Alex) whilst making him a better guy, bake a lot, give advice, several deep speeches…. I mean, I’m not sure what else they can do with her. JMO

NO DO not Let Izzie Die. ER was never the same after Doug, MArk, and Benson left the final straw was Carter. I wll be devasted if Izzie dies.
