30 Rock – Crazy can’t get you out of jury duty in New York

Another week, another episode of 3o Rock full of laughs. I feel like the season has really been on a good roll for a while now. I’m not sure if it has something to do with the end of the long string of guest stars or not, but I’m happy about it.

This week featured Liz trying to get out of jury duty again. I really wish we could see Tina Fey dressed in her Princess Leia outfit every week. Good times. It turns out, though, that crazy may get you out of jury duty in Chicago, but it doesn’t work in NYC.

I appreciated that this episode got everyone involved. Well, almost everyone, as Pete sat this episode out while he was spending spring break with his kids. It seems like many of the episodes this season have focused solely on Jack and Liz, so it was nice to see Tracy, Jenna, Kenneth, Frank, the writing staff, and even Dr. Spaceman getting some good screen time this week. I think the show has found a nice balance between craziness at the show and Jack and Liz’s crazy love lives.

There were some dynamite bits in this episode. I was guffawing as Jack was trying to find an inoffensive name for his new pocket microwave by pulling letters out of a scrabble bag, ending up with V-A-G, then N-I, and then finally H-I-T-L-E-R before calling it quits. I also loved Tracy’s swearing. Only a show like 30 Rock could pull off such blatant swearing with crystal clear mouth movements. Beautiful.
