I’ve got very little opinion or knowledge of the Jonas Brothers. What I do know is that they were on Saturday Night Live a few weeks ago, wear these “purity rings” that I won’t even get into here, and were clearly not put on this planet to entertain the likes of me. So, unfortunately, seeing Mickey Mouse kick the everliving snot out of one of the trio didn’t affect me as much as it would have, had I been uncontrollably and regularly exposed to these kids. Other than hearing their names, where else would I be subjected to their shit?
Apparently, though, the Jonas Brothers’ music causes little girls to go into fits of uncontrolled hysterics and dry humping. Dear lord, I am so glad I don’t have a daughter.
What was a different take on things for South Park was, instead of making the Jonas Brothers the central point of all-things-evil in the episode, the blame was put on Disney for capitalizing on the whole notion of purity rings and how they can lure more tweens (and younger!) into joining the cult of Jonas. A bit over the top with Mickey as a flying, giant parade balloon, spewing fire down on all of Denver for having ruined his diabolical plans. But man, that’s ripe for giving people Macy’s parade nightmares for years.
Favorite quote of the episode:
Cartman: “Statistically speaking, the most bacteria-ridden place on the planet is the mouth of an American woman, and you’re gonna let that near your penis?”
Kenny: “Yeph! Mwuoohoo!”
This episode was insane… the whole concert… I mean… god I’m really speechless about this.
That this was allowed on the air at all. Not that I’m against it. But that Comedy Central aired this… really insane.
I can’t get that image of that six year old girl shaking her ass out of my head… *shudder*
It wasn’t really a six year old, it was a cartoon! And you must not watch South Park a lot if you thought that was over the top and outrageous! My favorite part was the way Mickey punctuated almost every sentence with a “ha ha” no matter how awful the words coming out of his mouth were. That made me laugh every time!
The “ha ha” was great, as was Kenny’s funeral. As always, Cartman was right.
Great way to start the season off with a bang. I have a 7 year old daughter and cannot describe the immeasurable satisfaction I received from watching Mickey wail on one of the Jonas douches. The exposition of Mickey as the offensive manipulative corporate hack at the end was hilarious.
Oh and Kenny’s jubilation when he’s told his girlfriend is a slut. :D
That episode has became one of my fav ones, is a classic. I laughed so hard I could barely breathe.
