Reality Clack – Celebrity Apprentice, Survivor, The Bachelor, Amazing Race, American Idol

Some of the KOTU Team from The Celebrity ApprenticeI used to be a huge fan of The Apprentice back when the show was new and fresh. I’ve never been a big fan of Donald Trump, but I enjoyed the concept and the candidates. But then the show became more predictable and the candidates a bit more iffy. George and Caroline left and the Trumplets (Ivanka and Donald, Jr.) took over their duties. Nepotism, I say! Then came the disaster in Los Angeles which marked the end of the regular series.

Last season we were treated to The Celebrity Apprentice and I got hooked on the show all over again. So, it was a no-brainer that I’d be watching again this season, especially when folks like Joan Rivers, Dennis Rodman, and Clint Black are on the show.

That was the week it was

Since I started with The Celebrity Apprentice, I’ll stick with it a bit. One quick note — I know Trump has always had that odd hairdo thing going on, but what’s with his kid’s mullet? Ivanka presents herself nicely, but I just can’t take a businessman with a true mullet seriously. As far as the candidates, the right one is gone. I think Andrew Dice Clay is annoying, a bully and totally full of himself. While I think Dennis Rodman definitely didn’t put his best effort into the task, Clay needed to be gone. I didn’t want to watch him for several weeks into spring. I’m not too thrilled with the two-hour format on Sunday evenings, but NBC is running them online the next day as well as on Saturday nights.

As The Bachelor heads into its big season finale, last week’s episode was the cat-fight, er, reunion show with all of the dismissed bride wannabes. Will it be Melissa or Molly for single dad Jason? More importantly, do I even care?

On American Idol, the second group of twelve sang for their lives … or, at least their shot for the top twelve. Similar to last week, there was one surprise vote result. Now, I like Kris Allen more than I do Michael Sarver, but I would have rather seen Megan Joy Corkrey make it through. I find her kind of sultry, bluesy and intriguing. So, let me predict right here and now — Megan and Anoop will make it through on the Wild Card pick. After all, that’s the right thing to do! So far, the six making it through are: Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta, Alexis Grace, Michael Sarver and Danny Gokey.

The Amazing Race was once again quite amazing with a background of Romania and Transylvania. Gypsies and vampires always tickle my fancy. I’m basically enjoying all the teams although Victor and (to a lesser degree) Luke are irking me some. Victor might have learned his lesson when his foolish notion that he was right when he was dead wrong and almost lost the race for himself and Tammy. I guess we’ll see. My issue with Luke is that he’s really a bit like a spoiled child at times. Last week he was upset over the pie-throwing. This week he fussed about possibly having to wear a leotard. His mother Margie remains amazing. I was sad to see Brad and Victoria get Philiminated. Sigh. Brad and Victoria joined the previously eliminated teams at the Elimination Station in Thailand. Since the teams can’t go home immediately after elimination, they get to chill and be pampered.

I was also sorry to see Jerry get voted out on Survivor even though he was ill. He had a stomach bug and a bad one at that. I really don’t like Coach. I also didn’t like the fact he wrote “pimp daddy” when voting Jerry out.

On America’s Best Dance Crew, we’re down to the final two teams. Since I’m a big fan of So You Think You Can Dance, I have to cheer on Quest Crew. I mean, we’re talking Hok and Dominic, yo.

Until next week, it’s been real if not necessarily reality.

I’m so crossing my fingers that Coach gets voted off in a blindsight. I can’t watch this anymore he annoys me to no and. He’s angry and full of himself.
