Tonight on the tube: World Series and America’s Toughest Jobs ends

NBC

NBC

8:00p/7:00 Central

  • America’s Toughest Jobs wraps its first season run on NBC with a finale where the final four contestants must face again the toughest jobs of the competition so far. CMT’s Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling was more fun than I expected, but I’m an old school wrestling fan. The second episode kicks off tonight.
  • For sports fans, it’s a choice between ABC’s Saturday Night College Football and World Series Game 3 on FOX. That one’s all tied up and headed to Phillie for tonight’s contest.
  • MyNetwork TV is throwing on the feature film Wes Craven’s Dracula, while CBS offers up another Saturday night of repeats, starting with an NCIS from last year featuring Gibbs’ wife as a witness in a murder case.

9:00p/8:00 Central

  • Lifetime has a move, Sex & Lies in Sin City, which because it’s on Lifetime isn’t going to be nearly as awesome as that title leads you to believe. Instead, it’s the true story of the death of casino heir of Ten Binion. In fact, the book its based on was called Murder in Sin City but as everyone knows “Sex” sells better than murder.
  • Or, if you’d rather, Ed Asner stars in a movie about a troubled kid and a gruff older guy learning about love and compassion. Like you’ve never seen that before. This time it’s called Generation Gap and it’s on the Hallmark Channel.
  • WE’s The Locator wraps up its first season but fulfilling “A Granddaughter’s Dream.” Alternately, CMT offers up the high class in My Big Redneck Wedding and the new class of Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making the Team.
  • Lester gets reluctantly pulled into the action on a new Primeval over on BBC America, while the team faces a giant mammoth on the motorway.
  • Fox Reality Channel is giving potential fans a second chance to catch up on Gimme My Reality Show! in which celebrealities vie for their own reality show on … a reality show. Huh. I guess they’ve all already won. Anyway, the first episode repeats here.
  • NBC counters with last year’s The Office when Dwight and Michael crashed Ryan’s partying and kind of saw how low he’d really fallen. Then, they jump on the marathon bandwagon by re-airing all three Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday episodes to air thus far. Which makes them not live. Or on Thursday. But it does mean you can have a whole night of SNL if you want.
  • CBS repeats a Without a Trace from last year where they have to find a father, who happened to clean up crime scenes, and his daughter.

10:00p/9:00 Central

  • Fifteen years ago, a young doctor was found murdered in her car and accusations have plagued her boyfriend since. Take another look at the case with 48 Hours Mystery on CBS.
  • Then you can fight it out between BBC America’s The Graham Norton Show or WE’s John Edward Cross Country. Both are funny … for different reasons.
  • How about a Halloween-themed episode of TLC’s Trading Spaces with “Rival Haunted Houses.”
  • Gimme My Reality Show! offers up a repeat of last week’s second episode on Fox Reality Channel. Meanwhile, NBC repeats the second and third Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday episodes. But didn’t I just tell you all that up there? Move along now! Nothing (new) to see here!

11:00p/10:00 Central

  • The celebreality whores continue vying for their own realith show on … a reality show? Huh. I guess they’ve all already won. Anyway, Fox Reality Channel’s Gimme My Reality Show! continues here.
  • MadTV is in repeats, but at the half hour, Saturday Night Live is new with Jon Hamm (Madmen) hosting and Coldplay as musical guest.
