  • Pull on your bulletproof vest and tune into the BET’s Hip Hop Awards ’08. Actually, hopefully there won’t be any shootings at this one. The Rays are shooting themselves that they blew game one against the Phillies, but there’s always World Series Game 2 tonight on FOX to even things up.
  • One contestant suffers a breakdown and food struggles continue on CBS’s Survivor: Gabon.
  • Can Earl avoid being a snitch on NBC’s My Name is Earl? After that, on Kath & Kim, Kath starts planning her wedding, Kim tells her she’s too old for a fancy shindig and then both suspect their significant others of having affairs. Is this show clicking for you? It’s still a little weird for me. If you’d rather flip over to Lifetime there’s yet another Rita Rocks on. For the record, this will be a Tuesday night show once this week-long premiere ends.
  • Would you rather see Lindsay Lohan return to ABC’s Ugly Betty? She needs Betty’s help to find a job. Maybe TV will work for the Lohan until she can get her shit together more. Or, on The CW’s Smallville, a serial killer may be meteor-infected (hey, remember when that was every week!). It may be Davis, too. Gasp!

  • Motorcycles? Then watch TLC’s American Chopper. Destruction? How about The Discovery Channel’s Destroyed in Seconds. Inventions? BBC America has Dragon’s Den. Secrets of the past? The History Channel’s season premiere of Ancient Discoveries. Boy that list got off track. How about … guys fighting? Spike TV’s TNA: Impact has you covered … to a count of three. That’s better.
  • The Biography Channel offers up Johnny Cash’s America, offering a look at the legend and his connection to the country.
  • Dean gets infected by a “terror disease” that’s lethal, so Sam and Bobby have to race the clock on The CW’s Supernatural. Equally creepy is a series of deaths where the victims seemingly died in the midst of everyday activities, even staying upright. What supernatural show is that? CBS’s CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
  • The team faces serial surgeries on Grey’s Anatomy over on ABC. And Kevin McKidd (Journeyman, Rome)! Hell, yeah! But wait, you want to laugh? There’s a robbery and Michael helps Pam get a part-time job at corporate on NBC’s The Office. That’s followed by a new Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday or whatever the hell the official title of that show is. Expect political sketches.

  • A new season of Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew starts on VH1. This season’s roster of celebs includes the return of Jeff Conaway, Sean Stewart, Amber Smith, Rodney King, Nikki McKibbon, Steven Adler, and Tawny Kitaen. And Gary Busey joins to inspire! With craziness!
  • BET launches the third season of American Gangster, spotlighting Larry Davis. Less dangerous and more funny (one hopes) is Showtime’s Comics Without Borders, featuring Edwin San Juan and Bret Ernst.
  • TLC’s LA Ink offers more adventures in tattoo while Bravo’s Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style makes over another unsuspecting woman. Not sure if she has tattoos. So really, there may be no connection to the two. I bet some of the car thieves have tattoos on A&E’s Jacked: Auto Theft Task Force. You know, because that qualifies as “Arts & Entertainment.” Remember when A&E was high-brow?
  • Sam may come closer to figuring out why he’s in 1973 as the precinct looks at the case of a murdered returning Vietnam vet on ABC’s Life With Mars. Angela Bassett has to defend herself from a thief on NBC’s ER. Paralysis appears to be a theme on CBS tonight. Is that a statement on their viewers? After the frozen dead on CSI, Eleventh Hour offers up food-related paralysis.
  • We go where no one wants to go as FX’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia explores “Dennis Reynolds: An Erotic Life.” Then the Testees deal with memory loss. Alternately, at the half hour, you can tune into The Sarah Silverman Program on Comedy Central. You know. Sunny and Sarah would make great companion shows.

11:00p/10:00 Central

  • Do you need more fighting after all that? How about real fighting? Spike TV follows up wrestling with the UFC, tonight featuring Silva v. Cole.
