Survivor – This Camp Is Cursed

CBS

CBS

(Season 17, Episode 5)

The theme of this season is the horrible curse of negativity and just downright ugliness that makes up the Fang tribe. Even shuffling up the tribes didn’t do anything to change the streak. All it did was make the Kota people that switched to the Fang tribe more miserable. But nobody is more miserable than my man over there, G.C.

He’s such a negative whiny piece of shit bitch that he needed to leave the show when he quit as tribe leader. Tonight, he just kept on bitching and moaning about everything. And he continued saying that nobody tells him what to do. It’s one of the most childish things I’ve ever seen. Crystal told him to eat his rice and he said that nobody tells him what to do. I expected his stupid pride to force him to dump the rice out and not eat it just because somebody told him to. Later, he even started moaning and complaining that he’d had enough of Survivor and wanted to go home.

Meanwhile, Kota just kept right on winning and winning and again chose to send Sugar to Exile Island, for the comedy of it, according to Dan. In one regard it makes sense to keep sending the same person as it will help convince Fang that Sugar has the Idol. On the other hand, if they sent someone different each time it could sow even more discontent at Fang as people speculated who may or may not have it. Of course, I guess Crystal took the guesswork right out of it and went through Sugar’s back to find out for sure if she had it or not.

Challenges

I thought the challenges were supposed to be simpler this week. Instead, we got a convoluted and goofy fruit throwing competition for the Reward Challenge. Speaking of which, have you ever seen a less enthused gang of Survivors upon seeing that “what you’re playing for” is an herb garden? Ace put on a good performance blocking fruit until Kota figured out that he can only block one at a time with his stick. Duh.

The Immunity Challenge was even stupider. Blindfold a couple of guys as blockers, give them each a vocal guide and play giant Plinko with enormous stick balls down a massive hill. It’s an almost impossible challenge, and yet Randy guides Dan perfectly for Kota. Plus, he even managed to psyche Ace out during the last run.

Elimination

In the end, it came down to Fang going to Tribal Council again. Sugar had the Idol and thanks to Crystal everybody knew it. They even went so far as to say this was their only chance to blindside her and get her and the Idol out of the game. But no, they went with baby G.C. and gave him what he wanted. I’d have forced him to quit and nailed her and Ace to the wall. And I say that liking Sugar and hoping she does well. But I don’t think she’s savvy enough to get out from under Ace’s control and I think he’s going to throw her under the bus sooner rather than later. In fact, he may do it next week.

You can’t be certain of a merge, therefore you have to get rid of the quitter.

BTW, what would have happened if GC didn’t show up to the immunity challenge? Would they have played it? Would Fang have forfeited their opportunity for immunity?

I agree, you have to get rid of the quitter. It would be different if you were a winning team…but having lost so many challenges, they need people who will actually try to win.

It would have been stupid all the way around to vote for Sugar this week. Assuming they lose next week they still have the numbers to vote for Sugar and make Sugar & Ace think they’re gonna vote someone like Kelly instead.

Plus, if there is a merge (which is usually the case) and Sugar is still in the game…the Kota tribe knows that Sugar is the only person to have gone to Exile Island (other than Dan and I think they know he doesn’t have the idol) and they’re still 7 strong right now. You can be certain she’d be the main target…which would then give the Fang members at least a week to manuever into better positions.
